The National Performance Management Commission Seeks Case Studies
January 2010
The National Performance Management Advisory Commission is currently working to finalize its framework for public sector performance management. The final report is expected in March 2010. October 2009 The National Performance Management Advisory Commission would like to thank all the reviewers who submitted reviews of the draft framework. Currently, staff is reviewing comments and will be working to make revisions to the framework. Through this process, the Commission will continue to accept reviews and case studies. August 2009 The National Performance Management Advisory Commission, a collaborative effort of 11 leading public sector management organizations, has released a public review draft of A Performance Management Framework for State and Local Government: From Measurement and Reporting to Management and Improving and is seeking review and feedback from all interested parties. The framework articulates principles and describes practices for use by all state, provincial, and local governments. The commission’s intent was that the framework • Be flexible and readily adaptable to varying circumstances; • Identify general approaches, practices, and techniques that are characteristic of successful performance management; and • Support state, provincial and local governments’ efforts to develop and assess their performance measurement and management systems, for the public’s benefit.
